Computer Use Policy

Computers in the Libraries are available to Medaille College faculty, staff, and students on a first-come, first-served basis. Medaille College employees and students must log on using their Medaille College ID and password.

All patrons of the libraries must adhere to the Medaille College Acceptable Use Computing policy:

Medaille College Libraries staff may set a time limit for computer use.

Alumni and visitors are permitted to use computers at the Medaille College Libraries when student, faculty, and staff use is low.

Alumni and visitors may use the pre-installed software programs, perform Internet searches, and access the Medaille College Libraries catalog, databases and other electronic resources.

Visitors and alumni will be subject to a printing fee of $0.10 per page.

See separate policies regarding alumni and visitors for more information.

Laptop Computer Use Policy

Laptop computers may be loaned to Medaille College students, faculty, and staff with valid Medaille College ID cards.

A student must leave his or her Medaille College ID card at the circulation desk while using a laptop.

Laptops are charged out to students for in-library use. Upon special request, students may use laptops for class presentations.

Faculty may charge out a single laptop to use in a classroom. The loan period for this is two hours.

Patrons must read and sign a loan agreement accepting responsibility for any loss or damage to the computer. All costs of repair or replacement attributable to a patron will be charged to that patron.

Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be reserved by faculty, staff, or students.
